Teacher of English
Location: Filey, North Yorkshire
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Start Date: April 2026 or sooner
GSL Education are seeking a passionate and experienced Teacher of English to join a supportive secondary school setting in North Yorkshire. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and engage students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them achieve their full potential in English Language and Literature.
The Role
As a Teacher of English, you will:
Deliver high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, including GCSE preparation.
Plan, assess, and differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners.
Support literacy development and foster a love of reading and writing.
Monitor and track student progress, providing timely feedback and interventions.
Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.
Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and a safe learning environment.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and support school improvement.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
Holds QTS and relevant teaching qualifications.
Has excellent subject knowledge and a passion for English.
Can inspire and motivate students of varying abilities.
Is committed to raising achievement and improving outcomes.
Has strong classroom management and communication skills.
Enjoys working collaboratively as part of a supportive team.
