About the Practice Brayford Medical Practice is a city‑based family practice with over 10,800 patients, rated Good by the CQC. We use SystmOne clinical system and embrace digital innovation.
Responsibilities
Provide a full range of medical services as defined in the core GMS contract and additional enhanced services where appropriate.
Be available for surgery, telephone, home visits, and referral work per the practice timetable.
Record clear, contemporaneous computer‑based consultation notes to agreed standards using SystmOne.
Make professional, autonomous decisions on presenting problems, whether self‑referred or referred from other health care workers.
Assess the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
Develop care plans for health in consultation with patients and following current disease‑management protocols.
Provide counselling and health education.
Compile and issue computer‑generated acute and repeat prescriptions to avoid handwritten prescriptions.
Prescribe in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary or generically when clinically appropriate.
Carry out other normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP in primary care.
Qualifications
GMC registered.
MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
MRCGP – Inclusion on the Performers List.
MPS/MIDDUS/MIDDUS membership.
DBS Enhanced Check.
Experience working within a UK GP Practice.
Experience in primary care in an area with significant health problems.
Knowledge of EPS Prescribing.
Computer literate in Microsoft and clinical systems.
Good communication skills.
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
Patient‑sensitive and able to work in a highly confidential environment.
Ability to stay calm in a crisis.
Willingness to undertake continuing professional development.
Full UK driving licence and use of car.
Knowledge of current guidelines and general practice environment.
Understanding of local demographic characteristics affecting health (desirable).
