At A Healthier Earth, we believe infrastructure should regenerate the environment. We are building climate-positive solutions from the ground up, and we are looking for a Senior Project Manager to help lead the way.
About the Role
You will take ownership of major sustainability and engineering projects ranging from £25m to £250m, including waste-to-carbon systems, renewable technologies, and nature-based climate solutions. Reporting directly to the Chief Research & Development Officer, you will guide projects from concept through to commissioning, ensuring they deliver measurable impact and long-term value.
This is a high-profile role where you will manage cross-functional teams, external partners, and senior stakeholders. A combination of hands-on, on-site management of our initial biomass based projects in the UK and developing the second wave of both internally delivered and partner focused projects across EMEA. Finally, you will shape the delivery standards and practices and mentor the next generation of project managers.
What You Will Do
* Lead the planning and execution of large-scale climate and infrastructure projects from initiation to completion
* Develop project plans, budgets, and success metrics; ensure on-time and on-budget delivery
* Oversee design, procurement, construction, and commissioning to the highest standards
* Manage 3rd party contractors across planning, permitting, design, EPC, building contractors, equipment suppliers and technical implementation partners
* Manage stakeholder communications across leadership, partners, and external collaborators
* Implement robust safety, risk, and quality assurance frameworks
* Coach and mentor junior team members; contribute to a strong and inclusive delivery culture
What We Are Looking For
* 10+ years of experience delivering complex engineering or infrastructure projects (£25m+)
* Proven leadership across design, construction, and commissioning
* Experience in managing EPC, Landlords, contractors and planning/permitting consultant
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
* Ability to travel within the UK, initially to the Swindon and Cotswold areas
* Expertise in PM tools, QA/QC, vendor management, and commercial oversight
* Purpose-driven mindset with motivation to deliver real climate impact
* Desirable: experience in waste management, EfW, biomass boiler, biomass handling equipment or carbon removal technologies; fluency in a second language such as French, Dutch, Spanish, German or Arabic.
