Business continuity is fundamental to ensuring Softcat can maintain critical operations, protect people and assets, minimise disruption, and comply with regulatory requirements during a business continuity event. This function plays a key role in building organisational resilience and enabling the business to adapt and recover swiftly from unexpected challenges. Working closely with critical business areas, the BC lead will ensure Softcat is prepared for operational disruption and ensure we maintain ISO 22301 certification. We are seeking an experienced and proactive Business Continuity Lead to drive the ongoing development and continuous improvement of our Business Continuity Management System (BCMS). In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and external partners to strengthen Softcat's resilience and ensure ongoing alignment with ISO 22301. You will take ownership of key business continuity processes, including risk assessments, business impact analyses, and the planning and facilitation of exercises and simulations. The role also involves leading the documentation and review of continuity plans, supporting audit readiness, and championing a culture of preparedness across the organisation.
As the Business Continuity Lead, you'll beresponsible for:
* Lead the development and improvement of Softcat's Business Continuity Management System (BCMS), ensuring compliance with ISO 22301.
* Conduct and update risk assessments and business impact analyses (BIA).
* Develop, maintain, and test business continuity and recovery plans.
* Coordinate and document exercises, simulations, and post-incident reviews.
* Manage business continuity documentation and evidence for audits.
We'd love you to have:
* Minimum 5 years' hands‑on experience in business continuity, including business impact analysis (BIA), risk assessment, plan development, and scenario testing.
* In‑depth knowledge of ISO 22301 and experience maintaining or auditing a Business Continuity Management System (BCMS); ISO 22301 internal auditor certification preferred.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to assess risks, develop strategies, and drive continuous improvement.
* Proven ability to engage, influence, and educate stakeholders at all levels, fostering a culture of resilience across the organisation.
* Experience assessing and monitoring the continuity capabilities of critical suppliers and partners.
