We’re seeking an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our team at Evans Halshaw Ford Merthyr Tydfil as a Vehicle Damage Panel Technician Apprentice. This is an excellent opportunity to start a career with one of the UK’s leading automotive groups, where you’ll learn the skills necessary to repair and restore vehicles to the highest standards. Over 36–40 months, you’ll work towards a nationally recognised Level 3 Vehicle Damage Panel Technician qualification. Working alongside our experts, you’ll gain hands-on experience, develop technical skills, and contribute to returning vehicles to their best condition. Your Journey as a Vehicle Damage Panel Technician:
1. Assess vehicle damage and determine appropriate repair methods and materials.
2. Assist in removing and installing damaged vehicle panels, trim, and components.
3. Develop proficiency in using hand and power tools, such as grinders, sanders, and welders, for repairing and reshaping vehicle body panels.
4. Perform body filler application, sanding, and shaping to achieve smooth surfaces and seamless repairs.
5. Repair minor dents, scratches, and surface imperfections using appropriate techniques.
6. Support the preparation and application of primer, paint, and clear coat to repaired areas.
7. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure quality control and safety compliance throughout repairs.
8. Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring proper storage and handling of tools and materials.
9. Use measuring and alignment tools for accurate panel fitment and alignment.
10. Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills and safety awareness.
