1:1 Teaching Assistant - Poynton (ADHD Support, KS1 & KS2)

Academics is currently recruiting for dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistants to support pupils with ADHD (non-violent) at a friendly primary school in the Poynton area. The role will focus mainly on KS1 children, with additional support required for pupils in Year 3 and Year 5. This is a rewarding opportunity that requires someone who can bring energy, consistency, and compassion to the role, helping children regulate, focus, and thrive in the classroom.
The school is a supportive, well-organised setting with a strong sense of teamwork. To help new staff settle in, one-page profiles are provided for each child, giving clear guidance on how best to meet their needs. You\'ll be joining a welcoming and collaborative team where your input will be valued from day one.
Responsibilities
* Providing 1:1 support for pupils with ADHD in KS1, Year 3, and Year 5
* Encouraging focus, confidence, and positive classroom behaviour
* Supporting routines, transitions, and emotional regulation throughout the day
* Working closely with teachers and the SENCO to follow tailored support plans
* Creating a positive, energetic presence that helps children engage in learning
Ideal candidate
* Have experience supporting children with ADHD or SEN
* Can bring patience, energy, and consistency to each day
* Stay calm and adaptable in busy classroom environments
* Have worked as a TA, support worker, youth worker, or in a similar child-centred role
* Are flexible and open to long-term, short-term, or daily supply

Requirements
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
* Right to work in the UK
* Relevant TA qualification desirable but not essential
* SEN/ADHD support experience highly beneficial
