SEND Teaching Assistant
Prospero Teaching are proud to be supporting a specialist school in Southampton in recruiting an empathetic and proactive SEND Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team.
This inclusive and well-established school caters for children and young people aged 716 with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and moderate learning difficulties. The staff team are passionate about creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where every pupil can achieve their full potential.
About the Role:
The school is seeking a compassionate and motivated SEND Teaching Assistant to support students both in and out of the classroom. You will work closely with the class teacher and wider support team to deliver individualised learning plans, promote positive behaviour, and help pupils develop confidence, independence, and life skills.
The role requires patience, creativity, and a flexible approach, as no two days are the same. You will play a key part in helping students regulate their emotions, access learning, and celebrate their successes big and small.

Contract Details:
Location: Southampton, Hampshire
Position: SEND Teaching Assistant
Start Date: October 2025 / ASAP
Contract Type: Long-term (with potential to become permanent)
Working Hours: 8:30am 3:30pm (Monday to Friday, term-time only)
Salary: £90.74- £94.74 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
Requirements:
Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs
Up-to-date Safeguarding Training (or willing to complete)
Enhanced Child DBS (on the Update Service or willing to apply)
Two professional, child-related references
