Maintenance Mechanic - Headland, AL

ADM is seeking candidates for the position of a Maintenance Mechanic at our peanut shelling plant in Headland, AL. Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, from 7:00AM to 4:30PM, with an unpaid lunch. Duties of a Maintenance Mechanic are to maintain all equipment to required standards, provide support for preventive and failure based maintenance. Must be willing to take after hours call-ins on evenings and weekends and respond to facility as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Troubleshooting mechanical failures
2. Repairing, rebuilding and maintaining equipment
3. Demonstrating a strong team member attitude while being able to work independently with minimal supervision
4. Recommending changes, modifications or upgrades of equipment to improve machine reliability and performance
5. Reading equipment drawings and documentation
6. Documenting work, modifications to equipment, etc.
7. All other duties as required
Required Skills and Qualifications
8. Experience with coupling and coupling alignments, conveyors, safe rigging practices, hydraulics, cutting, grinding, and welding
9. Must be familiar with and able to work on the repair and maintenance of all processing equipment in the plant. This includes, but is not limited to: conveying systems (elevators, augers vibration equipment), gearboxes, power transmission.
10. Both oral and detailed written are needed to be effective in this position. Must be able to utilize independent judgment to solve problems, have excellent organizational skills to effectively handle multiple ongoing tasks and strive for continuous improvement
11. Proven experience with High-speed production
12. Detail oriented with good verbal and written skill
13. Must have good attention to detail troubleshooting skills
14. Must be familiar with standardized industrial procedures, practices and concepts
15. Strong written communication and interpersonal skills
16. Related Industry Knowledge
Education or Work Experience
17. The candidate must have a high degree of mechanical competence.
18. At least Five (5) years of experience.
Additional Information
19. History of working safely and a reputation for promoting and getting involved in safety improvement efforts
20. The candidate must be willing to work overtime, call-ins, weekends and holiday
21. The candidate must have regular, prompt attendance, have the ability to climb stairs, lift 55 pounds, sit and stand for long periods, be able to work in confined spaces, work with heights, bending and kneeling. The candidate must be able to work in a plant environment in a variety of environmental conditions including inside and outside, hot and cold temperatures and dusty environments
22. Understands and is accountable for full compliance with safety and other EHS requirements

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

The pay for this position is expected to be:

$25-$27.00 Hourly DOE
