Domiciliary Dispensing Optician – Road Manager

Take your optical expertise on the road-and into leadership.
This exciting hybrid role gives you the best of both worlds: 2-3 days a week in the office providing team leadership and operational management, and 2 days on the road delivering exceptional domiciliary eye care and supporting staff in the field.
As a Domiciliary Dispensing Optician – Road Manager, you’ll combine hands-on clinical care with the opportunity to coach, develop, and lead a passionate team. You’ll play a key role in supporting patients who cannot visit traditional practices while also driving performance and professional standards across your team.
About the Role
Office-Based Responsibilities (2-3 days per week)
Working from the Warrington office, you will:
* Lead and support a team of 6 Optical Assistants and 3 Optometrists
* Carry out 1:1s, performance reviews, and KPI monitoring
* Assist with workforce planning, rota coordination, and general operational management
* Ensure compliance with clinical and organisational standards
* Review patient feedback and support continuous improvement
* Help embed new processes, systems, and best practices across the team
On-the-Road Responsibilities (2 days per week)
When out in the community, you will:
* Deliver personalised dispensing services in patients’ homes
* Observe and support staff in the field, offering guidance and development
* Help cover appointments when needed to ensure smooth patient care
* Use your professional expertise to recommend appropriate eyewear and solutions
* Provide crucial support to vulnerable individuals, helping them maintain independence and wellbeing
* This balance of fieldwork and office leadership provides variety, impact, and the opportunity to shape both patient experience and team success.
The Team
You’ll be joining a supportive group of dedicated optical professionals who share a passion for delivering high-quality care. The team includes:
* 6 skilled Optical Assistants
* 3 experienced Optometrists
You’ll play a central role in guiding and empowering them to deliver the best possible service to patients.

* 35,000 per annum, depending on experience

What We’re Looking For
* GOC-registered Dispensing Optician
* A full UK driving licence
* Strong communication skills and the ability to lead, inspire, and develop a team
* A confident, supportive approach to both patient care and staff supervision
* Confidence using tablets, laptops, and new digital systems
