Job Introduction
Working under the supervision and guidance of the HSEQ Manager to ensure adherence to regulatory, statutory requirements and best practice guidance, you will support the HSEQ Manager and operational team in the delivery of the HSE plan through continuous improvement, effective management systems, strategic initiatives, safety cultural development and leadership.
What You'll Do
* Support and lead the operation and promotion of an integrated management system to create a proactive environmental, health and safety culture across operational teams, utilising Sodexo policy and procedures, including risk assessment and accident prevention.
* Facilitate the maintenance and management of environmental health, safety and well‑being through audit and inspection, setting high standards and expectations for service excellence.
* Ensure compliance with the Sodexo Integrated Audit Management System for Healthcare contracts and audit all units every six months.
* Report on the performance of food & safety audits in management review meetings and champion improvements.
* Advise on environmental, health and safety matters for managers and employees, providing practical best‑practice guidance.
* Assist the Learning and Development Manager in delivering operational technical training to promote a positive Health & Safety awareness culture.
* Coordinate technical training and competency for management and staff in food safety, pest control, environmental and operational practices.
* Manage client relationships and expectations; maintain formal and informal communication with clients, Sodexo Healthcare HSE Team Executive, sub‑contractors, and customers, maintaining a proactive, supportive approach.
What You Bring
* Level 3 Health and Safety qualification.
* Level 6 Health and Safety qualification (or to be achieved within an agreed timescale).
* Interest in becoming chartered in a safety, health, and environment discipline.
* Capacity to cooperate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
* Commitment to HSE management with strong motivation for knowledge and personal development.
* Graduate degree level or above in a subject relevant to SHE or equivalent qualification.
