An exciting full time permanent opportunity has arisen for an experienced HGV Senior Technician/MOT tester to join our small team at our depot in Chichester to service and repair our fleet of HGV vehicles.
You would join at the beginning of a total workshop refurbishment under a new leadership team.
Chichester District Council refuse collection vehicles visit every one of our 55,000 households every week and we need to have these vehicles maintained to the highest standards to ensure they can be operated safely and reliably.
The overall purpose of this role is to maintain/repair the Council's LGV & HGV vehicles. Also, to provide some repair services for road sweepers, 3.5 tonne vehicles where possible.
You will report directly to the Workshop Manager, working in a tight knit team where good communications skills and positivity are essential to strive for excellence within the department. Key job areas are general maintenance and servicing, MOT preparation, body repairs and basic fault finding. This is a Monday to Friday post with the opportunity for overtime.
We value the continued development of all employees, and we encourage the use of new tools and processes whenever appropriate. We will support training to gain new qualifications as required.
For the right candidate we will put through Category C HGV training, IRTEC qualification and MOT Tester qualification.
Ideally, we are looking for:
* Previous experience working on HGV's and LGV's
* Qualified MOT tester (not essential)
* Willing to learn new skills and product knowledge.
* A full HGV Driving Licence (not essential)
* Problem solver
* Positive "can do" attitude.
* Team Player
* Basic level of numeracy and literacy to complete work documentation.
* IRTEC Qualification ( not Essential )
