Finance Apprentice
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Apprentice to join our finance team. This apprenticeship is designed for individuals passionate about building a career in finance. The successful candidate will support the finance team in various accounting tasks, gaining practical experience while studying towards their AAT qualifications from Level 2 through to Level 4.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with the preparation and processing of invoices, payments, and receipts.
* Support the reconciliation of bank statements and financial records.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
* Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements.
* Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
* Assist with data entry and management of accounting software.
* Provide general administrative support to the finance team.
* Respond to internal and external financial inquiries promptly and professionally.
* Ongoing job shadowing to enhance accounting knowledge and skills.
* Adhere to company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
* Contribute to financial audits and the development of internal controls.
* Support the implementation of new financial systems and processes.
* As you progress through the AAT levels, take on more complex tasks such as budget preparation, financial forecasting, and variance analysis.
Qualifications and Skills
* A genuine interest in pursuing a career in finance.
* Commitment to completing AAT qualifications from Level 2 through to Level 4.
* Strong numerical and analytical skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
* Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
* High level of integrity and professionalism.
* Prior experience in a finance-related role (desirable but not essential).
