We currently have a vacancy for a Digital Content Assistant to join our Digital team on a fixed term basis. As part of the Media team, you will support the creation and development of content that connects with people across different digital and social media platforms. You will work with colleagues in press, marketing, and policy to produce a mix of digital content – from photos and videos to graphics and short written pieces, that highlight important topics across our region like transport, the environment, culture, and policing & crime. As Digital Content Assistant, you will work alongside the Senior Digital Media Officer and Digital Content Creator to plan and shape content, edit and publish materials, and make sure posts are clear, engaging, and suited to our audiences. The Role Reporting into Senior Digital Media Officer, your key responsibilities will include: · Support the digital creative team in delivering engaging, accessible content across social media and digital platforms, including scripting, filming, editing, and publishing. · Accompany the Mayor across the region to document public engagements and create compelling visual stories that align with organisational objectives. · Stay informed on digital trends, video styles, and emerging technologies to ensure content remains current, impactful, and widely accessible. About You You will have the following key skills, attributes, education and experience: • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in Filmmaking, Broadcast Journalism, Digital Marketing, PR or communications. • Experience of videography, photography and working with relevant editing package. • Experience of shooting, creating, editing, and scripting video content. • Fosters good working relations across the organisation, building effective team relationships. • Demonstrate a commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) at all times.
