Sub Agent – Civil Engineering
Location: Stratford
Type: Contract - minimum 3 months
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Sub Agent to support the delivery of civil engineering works across small to medium projects, or as part of a wider team on major schemes. This is a hands-on role for someone confident managing site operations, driving programmes, and maintaining high standards across safety, quality, and cost control.
You will play a key role in ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with client and contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Support the successful delivery of civil engineering projects from site level
Manage day-to-day site activities, subcontractors, and resources
Produce and manage short-term programmes and progress reports
Interpret drawings and specifications, resolving technical issues on site
Maintain strong commercial awareness and assist with cost control
Ensure compliance with HSEQ, CDM, and environmental standards
Chair site meetings and liaise professionally with clients and stakeholders
About You
Essential:
Proven experience working as a Sub Agent or in a similar site management role
Strong civil engineering background with sound technical knowledge
Good understanding of NEC contracts and CDM regulations
CSCS and SMSTS certified
Degree, HNC, or equivalent in Civil Engineering
NEBOSH or IOSH qualified
Full UK driving licence
Confident communicator with strong leadership and problem-solving skills
Maintain accurate site records, diaries, and as-built documentation
Experience on water or utilities infrastructure projects
Desirable:
Temporary Works Co-ordinator experience
Confined space and service avoidance training
Working towards CEng, IEng, or equivalent
Appointed Person or CPCS qualification
