We have an opportunity for a motivated practitioner to join our expanding Endoscopy service at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital as a trainee Non-Medical Endoscopist (lower GI).
You should be a registered practitioner, and have an interest in endoscopy, gastroenterology or general surgery. Significant clinical experience within one of these specialities is essential. Training will be provided to complete the necessary qualifications to become a registered Non-Medical Endoscopist. The course also includes modules in clinical assessment and non-medical prescribing. You will be expected to work autonomously and manage your own caseload whilst working within the wider team to support education, audit and quality improvement.
On successful completion of the academic course at Glasgow Caledonian University, and clinical assessment, you will independently perform lower GI endoscopic procedures, in a substantive band 7 role.
You should be able to demonstrate a commitment to safe, effective patient-centred care, through auditing and developing own practice. A commitment to quality, evidence-based care is essential, whilst having a ‘can-do’ attitude.
The endoscopy service in NHS Golden Jubilee supports NHS Scotland to provide increased access to elective procedures, and has expanded in the last year, and now includes a purpose built endoscopy unit with five procedure rooms. This has been an exciting time for the endoscopy service, and provides the opportunity to become part of a progressive, dynamic and person centred team, within a world renowned healthcare organisation.
