The role
As a Senior Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Design Engineer, you’ll lead the design and delivery of complex EC&I systems for some of the UK’s most critical defence and infrastructure projects. This is your chance to make a tangible impact, shaping new capabilities, extending asset lifecycles and ensuring operational resilience in one of the country’s most advanced engineering environments.
* Lead EC&I design activities across the full project lifecycle.
* Develop and manage requirements, engineering plans and specifications.
* Produce design documentation including drawings, reports and manuals.
* Support commissioning and provide technical input during implementation phases.
* Mentor and coach Engineers, Graduates and Apprentices.
Essential Experience
* Significant knowledge of electrical control and instrumentation engineering, including hardware and software systems.
* Strong understanding of relevant industry legislation for electrical systems.
* Proven experience designing EC&I systems.
* Ability to engage with customers and stakeholders to capture requirements.
* Leadership skills with experience mentoring and developing Engineers.
Qualifications
* Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience with HNC.
* Professional registration with an engineering body (desirable).
* IOSH Managing Safely training (advantageous).
