MedStar Health is looking for an MRI Technologist to join our team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital!
Schedule: Sunday through Tuesday, 6:30am - 7:00pm
As an MRI Technologist, you will perform a full range of MR (Magnetic Resonance) exams in accordance with established protocols. You will adhere to strict MR Safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and hospital standards.

Primary Duties:
1. Perform a full range of MR imaging procedures promptly on all patient types as specified by the protocol.
2. Perform venipuncture, contrast media injections, and administer non-narcotic medications as required for effective diagnostic imaging.
3. Follow physician modality director’s policies and procedures.
4. Adhere to research guidelines for studies involving research participants.
5. Ensure correct exam procedures, including laterality, on the correct patient at the scheduled time.
6. Provide basic information to patients and families about procedures and answer questions when asked.
7. Maintain MR and related equipment, adhering to all safety requirements and reporting repairs.
8. Enforce MR Safety standards and practices.
9. Monitor equipment, analyze malfunctions, contact Biomedical Engineering, and log tickets.
10. Ensure timely completion of exams through effective workflow management using RIS, ERS, and EMR systems.
11. Coordinate with Technical Aides for efficient room turnover.
12. Collaborate with Patient Financial Associates to minimize delays and safety issues.
Qualifications:
* Vocational/Technical Diploma from an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program.
* Competency in didactic coursework and clinical procedures as per ARRT or ARMRIT certification requirements.
* Certification in MR from ARRT or ARMRIT with advanced MR certification.
* BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
* 1-2 years of hospital experience preferred.
