Park Surgery are looking for an experienced bank Phlebotomist to support our clinics to our patient population in Herne Bay.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for someone who can provide a high quality phlebotomy service for our patients by obtaining blood samples from patients through venepuncture. The successful candidate will be flexible in covering ad hoc weekday shifts and to help manage backlogs and shortfalls within the service.
This post will be based at the Queen Victoria Hospital in Herne Bay.

Job Summary:
Working under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager and strictly in accordance with specific Practice guidelines and protocols, the Phlebotomist will be responsible for obtaining blood samples from patients through venepuncture.
Job Responsibilities:
* To be responsible for taking blood samples in a safe and competent manner
* To carry out all procedures safely and maintain high standards of care at all times
* To ensure correct labelling and dispatch of samples.

Experience
* Venepuncture experience based within a busy phlebotomy department or healthcare setting.
* Thorough understanding of venepuncture techniques and practices including knowledge of relevant anatomy & physiology, infection control and health & safety issues surrounding the practice.
* Experience of working in a primary care environment.
* Knowledge of EMIS.
Qualifications
* Good standard of general education.
