Job Summary
Band 5 Mental Health Nurse (Staff Nurse) for Ramsey Unit, Dane Garth, Barrow‑in‑Furness. Provide high‑standard acute mental health care within a multi‑disciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver safe, effective nursing care to patients in the most acute phase of illness.
* Act as shift leader and named nurse for assigned shifts.
* Coordinate and communicate with multidisciplinary team members.
* Participate in care planning, assessment, implementation and review.
* Support colleagues through preceptorship and ongoing professional development.
* Maintain accurate documentation and clinical records.
Working Hours
24‑hour coverage, seven days a week. Part‑time option available.
Qualifications & Experience
* Registered Mental Health Nurse qualification (RNMH & RNLD).
* Current registration with the NMC.
* Evidence of continued professional development.
* Post‑graduate experience in mental health nursing.
* Experience working within a multidisciplinary team structure.
* Proficient in care assessment, planning, implementation and review.
* Knowledge of mental health conditions and their treatments.
* Understanding of physical health complications in mental ill health.
Disclosures & Checks
Rehabilitation of Offenders Act – Exceptions Order 1975 required. Enhanced DBS clearance. UK professional registration mandatory.
Salary & Benefits
£31,049 to £37,796 per annum, based on Agenda for Change.
