Overview
Site Electrical Engineer, Essential Home role at Reckitt. Reporting into the Electrical Lead Engineer, this role involves a combination of planned/reactive maintenance and technical challenges to ensure maximum line efficiency with accountability to deliver the line KPIs. Responsible for the safe and efficient running of a high-speed packaging/production line and ensuring products are prepared for delivery in line with customer service requirements.
The role requires working in a safe manufacturing environment and adhering to health, safety and hygiene procedures. It is flexible to work predominantly shifts or days as required with minimum notice.
Responsibilities
* Support and ensure lines operate at maximum efficiency to achieve production plans on time and to quality standards
* Minimise waste to meet area targets
* Contribute to continuous improvement of equipment performance
* Communicate with engineering colleagues and support functions to ensure continuity
* Define, plan and lead maintenance tasks delivering on-time handovers
* Contribute to the control of departmental R&M budget and keep it on target
* Lead and coordinate breakdown engineering activities for the lines
* Complete root-cause analysis and implement preventative solutions
* Support successful implementation of planned maintenance and new projects
* Ensure maintenance/repair information is logged into the CMMS
* Maintain housekeeping and hygiene standards within the work area
* Ensure compliance with safety and quality systems and legal/regulatory requirements
* Own your training plan with support from your manager
* Ensure right-first-time completion of line repairs and maintenance activities
* Participate in audits (internal and external)
* Undertake any other duties reasonably required within the role
Qualifications & Experience
* Production line experience on high-speed packaging equipment in FMCG, food, or pharmaceutical sectors
* Electrical minimum craft level, ONC or HND preferred
* Fault finding and development of PLC programs (Siemens S5 and S7)
* Good knowledge of fault finding and setup of AC and DC inverter drives
* Knowledge of electrical systems in explosive gas hazardous areas; COMPEX qualification preferred
* 17th edition would be advantageous but not essential
* Strong IT skills
* Mechanical and pneumatic awareness
* Ability to work with minimum supervision and be a self-starter
* Proven track record of delivering high performance while leading from the front
* Analytical skills with drive to implement improvements
* Awareness of quality and Good Manufacturing Practice
* Experience in a KPI-focused environment
