Overview of the role

The Event Technician plays a key role in delivering high-quality live events for our clients. Working across the Operations, Projects, and Warehouse teams, this role is responsible for preparing, transporting, setting up, operating, and packing down AV equipment to agreed specifications and timescales.

The technician will have a solid understanding of event briefs, equipment requirements, and on-site logistics. They'll be expected to represent the company professionally while delivering and supporting events across a wide range of venues and client types.

During busy periods, the Event Technician may be asked to support other areas of the business as needed.

Roles & Responsibilities

* Prepare and de-prepare equipment in the warehouse to job specifications.

* Deliver, install, operate, and pack down AV equipment for live events.

* Follow project briefs and schedules to ensure all elements are delivered accurately and on time.

* Work professionally and respectfully on-site, representing the company to clients and venue teams.

* Complete paperwork and digital checklists accurately (e.g., delivery notes, fault logs, sign-offs).

* Support warehouse team with general duties as required.

* Take ownership of equipment on-site, ensuring it is used, maintained, and returned in good condition.

* Comply with all health and safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times.

* Able to work calmly under pressure and adapt quickly to changing requirements.

* Clear communicator with a professional attitude on and off-site.

* Able to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a crew.

* Digitally minded – confident using phones/tablets for checklists, job sheets, and communications.

* A natural problem-solver who takes pride in a job well done.

* Must have a good understanding of audio-visual technologies, including, audio, lighting, video, networking, power and comms.

Personal Specifications

* Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

* Highly motivated with a positive, can-do attitude.

* Ability to work in extreme temperatures and varied environments.

* Capable of lifting up to 16kg and placing items on shelves/platforms up to 1.65m high.

* Ability to repeatedly climb various ladders with a minimum of 10 rungs.

* Must meet all safety requirements for applicable policies and wear appropriate PPE throughout shifts.

* Valid driver's licence with an acceptable driving record.

* Comfortable with standing for long periods of time with walking, sitting, repetitive climbing stairs, reaching (including but not limited to above-should reaching), repetitive bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, leading and twisting.

Knowledge & Experience

* Must have a proven track record of at least 2 years working within the live events and event production industry.

* Ability to demonstrate excellent understanding of all technical elements within the live events industry, including but not limited to, lighting, audio, staging, vision, power and rigging.

* Ability to demonstrate active problem-solving skills.

* Must have a proven track record of adhering and delivering events to an agreed plan.

Experience:

* events industry : 2 years (required)
* technical event production: 2 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

* IPAF (preferred)
* Full UK Driving License (required)
