Nottinghamshire County Council is dedicated to serving our community with compassion and commitment. We are proud to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) through our Statutory SEND Service. Join us in making a meaningful difference in the lives of families across Nottinghamshire.

As an EHCP Practitioner, you will play a pivotal role in supporting children and young people with SEND. You will manage the statutory processes for Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring timely development and review. Collaborating with families, educational settings, and multi‑agency professionals, you will tailor support to meet individual needs and statutory requirements. This is an exciting opportunity to join a passionate team dedicated to securing the best outcomes for our community’s children and young people.

In this role, you will:

* Manage the statutory assessment process for EHCPs.
* Collaborate with families, educational settings, and multi‑agency professionals.
* Develop and review EHCPs to ensure they meet individual needs.
* Communicate effectively with families, providing clear and accessible information.
* Coordinate annual reviews and monitor progress, including transitional reviews.
* Build strong relationships with children, young people, and families using a strengths‑based approach.
* Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and maintain accurate records.

To succeed as an EHCP Practitioner, you should have:

* A strong understanding of the Children & Families Act 2014 and related legislation.
* Experience in managing statutory assessment processes.
* Knowledge of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) frameworks.
* Proficiency in drafting and reviewing EHCPs.

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:

* Empathy: A genuine desire to support children and families.
* Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
* Resilience: Capability to work under pressure and manage challenging situations.
* Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to convey complex information clearly.

At Nottinghamshire County Council, we offer:

* A place to belong: A friendly, inclusive workplace where everyone is valued.
* Professional development: Opportunities for training and career advancement.
* Work‑life balance: Flexible working arrangements to suit your lifestyle.
* Generous leave: A supportive environment that prioritises your well‑being.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with SEND. If you are a motivated practitioner ready to join a supportive team, we want to hear from you! Apply today and be there for your community when they need you most.

For an informal discussion about this opportunity please contact Kate Spriggs on 0115 8041055 or by email Kate.Spriggs@nottscc.gov.uk.

Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Nottinghamshire County Council strives to ensure that it goes beyond the requirements of the Equalities Act and prides itself on being accredited as a Disability Confident Leader Organisation.

Under the Disability Confident scheme (formerly known as the Guaranteed Interview Scheme) we would like to ensure applicants with disabilities are offered an interview if they meet the minimum criteria for the job. Please let us know if this is something you would like to be considered for.

A job share scheme is available for all full‑time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undertake appropriate checks.

Nottinghamshire County Council strongly encourages applications from all candidates from different walks of life, irrespective of gender, marital status, disability, race, religion, belief, pregnancy and maternity status, age or sexual orientation.
