The vacancy

Sales Officer – Housing 21 (Extra Care Team)

Location: Mobile – Covering sites in Northampton (St Crispin) and Dudley (Broadmeadow, Lime Gardens, Willowfields).
The successful candidate must be based in one of these locations and is expected to work from each site on a regular, demand-led basis.

Hours: 35 hours per week / 70 hours over two weeks (9-day fortnight)

Travel: Multi-site travel with mileage paid

Shifts: Primarily Monday–Friday, some weekend flexibility required

This is an initial 12-month secondment/fixed-term contract pilot project role, starting from the successful candidate’s start date. There is potential for the role to become permanent.

We’re looking for a motivated Sales Officer with a passion for people to join our Extra Care Team at Housing 21. This role is perfect for someone with sales experience who wants to combine their skills with purpose — helping older people live independently in high-quality homes.

Working collaboratively with our Village managers, you’ll take the lead on the process & administration of buying back & selling leasehold properties within Extra Care. You’ll work closely with our Home Ownership Project Officer to ensure everything runs smoothly from the first enquiry to handing over the keys.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Handling property sales and mandatory buybacks across Northampton and Dudley, this will include carrying out tasks such as homebuyer surveys.

Supporting older buyers through the process with empathy and clarity

*

Managing the on-site sales process from start to finish

*

Ensuring targets and timelines are met

*

Using your communication and organisation skills to keep everything running efficiently

*

Managing the buying back our properties

What We’re Looking For:

*

Sales experience (property or shared ownership a plus)

*

Great people skills — especially when working with older customers

*

Confident using Microsoft Office (Excel in particular)

*

Understanding of social housing or Extra Care housing is a bonus

*

Budget management experience

*

A positive, self-motivated attitude and a full driving licence
