About the Role:
We are currently supporting a dynamic and growing organisation in their search for an
Interim Shared Services Manager.
This role will be suited for a proactive and experienced finance professional with a background in managing shared service teams. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounts receivable, credit control, VAT compliance, and financial reporting, along with a keen eye for process improvement and risk management. They should be confident working in a dynamic environment, capable of overseeing operational tasks while supporting broader finance functions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and supervise a shared service team of six members, providing leadership and support.
* Oversee accounts receivable processes, ensuring all invoicing is accurate and issued in a timely manner.
* Monitor and ensure timely payment of debtor invoices, reviewing debt collection documentation and identifying areas for improvement.
* Prepare receipt forecasts, conduct reporting and analysis, and implement continuous process improvements.
* Review VAT treatments to ensure compliance and accuracy.
* Monitor and report on unallocated cash balances regularly.
* Conduct credit checks and review customer credit limits to manage financial risk.
* Manage employee expenses, including monitoring, reporting issues, maintaining controls, and updating policies as needed.
* Perform other ad hoc tasks as required to support the finance function.
Personal Experience:
* Relevant on the job experience in a similar finance role, including line management
* Use of Oracle, SAP or other large ERP system
* Effective communicator able to engage at all levels within an organisation
