SEN Teaching Assistant – Chorley – September Start – Full Time
Are you looking for a rewarding new role supporting children with Special Educational Needs? We are recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and well-resourced specialist provision in Chorley from September on a full-time, long-term basis.
This specialist setting supports pupils aged 4–16 with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Conditions, Moderate Learning Difficulties, and associated communication or sensory needs. The school prides itself on its inclusive, child-centred approach and strong partnerships with families and external agencies.
The Role:
Work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging, differentiated lessons and activities.
Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with diverse learning and communication needs.
Assist with personal care and help pupils develop independence and life skills.
Use a range of specialist strategies, such as visual supports, PECS or Makaton (training can be provided).
Contribute to a positive, safe and stimulating learning environment where every child can thrive.
About You:
Previous experience supporting children or young people with additional needs is desirable but not essential.
A calm, patient and flexible approach.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a collaborative team.
A genuine passion for helping children achieve their full potential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
