We are looking for a number of PTHP (casual) lecturers to join our Progression to Learning & Work Department.
Working across Entry 3 and Level 1 provisions, you will help learners to develop key personal and social skills, behaviours and attitudes that will build confidence in their own abilities and also how to demonstrate and apply these effectively. You will help your learners achieve this by using practical tasks, set in a variety of vocational contexts.
The successful candidates will be qualified reachers, preferably with experience in one or more of the following areas:
1. Construction
2. ICT
3. Retail
4. Science
5. Barbering
6. SEND
Responsibilities include:
7. To design and deliver a wide range of effective and inclusive teaching and learning activities
8. To assess the work and progress of all students and provide them with constructive and timely feedback.
9. To seek ways of improving student performance by reflecting on teaching design and delivery and obtaining and analysing feedback.
10. To develop and apply innovative approaches to improving the learning environment, teaching and/or assessment and feedback methods
11. Engage in professional development in relation to teaching, learning and assessment, including the use of an evidence-informed approach, which utilises the outcomes of scholarship to enhance teaching practice
12. Contribute to course development and the development of new programmes of study demonstrating an inclusive and collaborative approach to delivery.
13. Contribute to outreach and/or widening participation activity within the Department/ School
14. Produce Plans of learning, lesson plans, assessment plans, varied learning materials and any other related activities that positively impact the effectiveness of learning.
15. Maintain records of formative and summative assessments of students’ learning carried out.
16. Plan, deliver and assess high-quality teaching and associated activities on courses and programmes as specified by the Head of School/Department
17. Participate pro-actively in the design, development and delivery of enrichment and enhancement activity
18. To undertake research and/or scholarly activity that feeds directly into teaching and learning and as agreed by the Head of School/Department
