General Summary:

Qualcomm UK is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Customer Engineer (CE) to join our Customer Engineering team, supporting carrier/Operator engagements across the European region. This role involves both onsite and remote technical support, leveraging the latest Mobile Test Platforms (MTPs) and AI-related software tools to drive the adoption and commercialization of Qualcomm’s advanced modem and AI solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Innovation & Feature Promotion
1. Advocate for Qualcomm’s modem roadmap and innovation topics, including AI modem features, NTN, and other advanced technologies.
2. Execute proof-of-concept (PoC) activities to showcase new features to carrier partners.
Demo & Event Support
3. Lead and support demos for Modem AI, XR AI, Edge AI use cases enabled by Cloud AI.
4. Participate in high-profile demo events involving 3GPP standard modem radio features and carrier-specific use cases such as network slicing.
Carrier Engagements
5. Support carrier launch events by promoting modem features and new business initiatives.
6. Assist in carrier trials, including MTP setup, software loading, and issue resolution.
7. Provide terminal acceptance support by working with OEMs in carrier labs to validate modem radio features.
8. Support Modem AI, including Qualcomm’s AI accelerator engines such as the 5G AI Processor with integrated tensor acceleration.
Post-Launch Support
9. Troubleshoot and resolve modem-related issues post-launch to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction.
Specialized Trials
10. Support WBC/5G FWA and WIN trials, including GPON testing and qualification in carrier labs.
Required Qualifications:
11. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
12. Strong understanding of wireless communication technologies (LTE, 5G NR, 3GPP standards).
13. Hands-on experience with modem debugging and AI software tools.
14. Experience with Bayesian inference or upper layer protocol design, including 3GPP IMS, NAS, MAC/RLC/PDCP, RRC, IP, UDP, TCP, HTTP, and routing.
15. Ability to perform under pressure in executive-facing environments.
16. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.
17. Willingness to travel frequently across the European and MEA regions.
Preferred Qualifications:
18. 2+ years of experience with Python and C++.
19. Familiarity with architectural patterns for large-scale software applications.
20. 3+ years of experience with 4G/5G/6G systems and associated cellular standards (e.g., 3GPP NR, LTE, 3G).
21. Experience with modem log analysis (e.g., WCDMA, LTE, 4G, 5G).
22. Strong domain knowledge in two or more functional areas of SoCs, such as Application Processor, AI, and Modem.
23. Familiarity with carrier lab processes, network slicing, and cloud-based AI solutions.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• 1+ year of any combination of academic and/or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
• 1+ year of any combination of academic and/or work experience with debugging techniques.
