Prospero Teaching – Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), Fareham
Prospero Teaching are seeking a highly motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join one of our client schools in Fareham. You will be working across EYFS, KS1, and KS2, supporting pupils in the classroom, covering PPA, and delivering small group intervention sessions where required.
Role Details
1. Hours: 30 per week, 8:30am – 3:30pm
2. Days: Monday to Friday, term time only
3. Pay: Minimum £ per hour (to be discussed with consultant)
We are looking for someone who:
4. Holds a relevant HLTA qualification
5. Has classroom experience supporting teachers and pupils
6. Possesses strong literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE Maths and English Grade C or equivalent)
7. Has experience delivering small group interventions
8. Demonstrates effective behaviour management skills
9. Can use ICT confidently to support learning
10. Communicates clearly, positively, and with confidence
11. Is organised, proactive, and demonstrates a genuine ‘can do’ attitude
12. Understands children’s emotions and behaviour, and works to remove barriers to learning
13. Is resilient, flexible, resourceful, and brings a good sense of humour
The successful candidate will:
14. Work under the guidance of the class teacher or SLT within the classroom setting
15. Support pupils to remain engaged and complete learning activities
16. Help manage children’s social and emotional needs in collaboration with the class teacher
17. Assist with assessment and contribute to reviewing pupil progress
18. Uphold confidentiality and safeguarding practices at all times
