We provide pharmacy support for the expanding Research and Development work of the University Hospital of Liverpool Group. Our portfolio of studies covers a wide range of clinical specialties. The role is based at the Phase 1 Clinical Research Facility at the Royal Liverpool Hospital. You will assist in the maintenance of trial drugs, dispensing, labelling, checking, recording drug accountability, investigating discrepancies, and temperature monitoring.
Responsibilities
* Dispensing and checking clinical trial prescriptions
* Writing and checking individual trial procedures
* Receipt and management of storage of investigational medicinal products
* Support wider trials team
* Support cross‑site duties when required
* Cover weekend and late rotas in the main dispensary
* Participate in the daily delivery and maintenance of dispensing and checking of trials in line with service demands
* Work closely with the Lead CRF technician and Clinical Trials Pharmacist to develop and support clinical trial provision on the CRF and across the group
Qualifications & Requirements
* Qualified Pharmacy Technician registered with the GPhC
* Experience working in Clinical Trials
* Accredited accuracy checker
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to future‑plan, understand role and service priorities, work accurately and under pressure, adapt to change
* Professional registration as a practising Pharmacy Technician with the RPSGB (desirable)
Desirable Criteria
* Aseptic skills current; BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences (or equivalent)
* Demonstrable post‑qualification experience in hospital pharmacy
* 12 months post‑registration experience in clinical trials
* Experience with a range of clinical trials
* Experience training staff
* Experience of audit
