We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Technical team at Greggs as a Quality Assurance Manager. Reporting to the Technical Manager you will be have direct responsibility for food safety and quality standards.
You will be part of an effective QA team that is heavily involved with day-to-day factory floor operations for low risk manufacturing, ensuring high standards are maintained and current site systems are challenged and developed.
You will be expected to build strong relationships across the site and work closely with technical teams within the region.

About the role
17. This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered

What you'll do
Working closely with the site teams, the role is responsible for:
20. Directing a team of Quality Assurance Technicians
21. Working with production, engineering, and hygiene teams to ensure the highest standards of food safety, quality and legality are maintained
22. Steering the annual site BRCGS audit and ensuring the site works to the requirements of the BRCGS Food standard, always
23. Leading the HACCP team, ensuring full implementation of the HACCP plan and prerequisites
24. Managing the sites allergen management and risk assessment process
25. Facilitating product recalls and withdrawals
26. Managing the sites document control systems
27. Providing management reports on levels of performance for KPI data
28. Assisting with the completion of internal audits and inspections
29. Managing non-conformances and corrective / preventative actions
About you
We are looking for individuals who are driven, and can demonstrate:
30. A Degree level education in a Food Science based subject
31. Experience of allergen management essential
32. HACCP Level 3 and Food Safety Level 4 qualifications
33. The role will involve occasional travel to other sites; therefore, flexibility and a full clean driving licence is essential
34. Practical knowledge of the BRCGS Food Standard and Quality Management Systems
35. Internal audit qualification and experience auditing against the BRCGS food standard
36. Proven experience of leadership, decision making and team management
37. A result focussed approach with excellent communication skills and the ability to influence others
