APT Education is proud to be working in partnership with a forward-thinking primary school in Coventry to recruit an experienced and passionate Intervention Specialist Teaching Assistant. This is a full-time, ongoing role starting January 2026 or earlier, focused on delivering targeted support in literacy and numeracy to lower-attaining pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
The school is committed to closing learning gaps and raising attainment through high-impact interventions. Staff work collaboratively to ensure every child receives the support they need to succeed.
🎯 Role Overview:
* Lead structured intervention sessions in English and Maths
* Support pupils working below age-related expectations through 1:1 and small group work
* Use assessment data to monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies
* Collaborate with class teachers and the SENCO to identify learning needs and plan support
* Build pupil confidence, motivation, and independence in core subjects
✅ Ideal Candidate:
* Experience delivering literacy and numeracy interventions in a primary school setting
* Proven track record of raising pupil attainment
* Confident leading targeted support sessions with lower-attaining pupils
* Strong understanding of phonics, reading comprehension, and foundational maths
* A proactive, patient, and encouraging approach to learning
* A valid Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
