Save Share Apply now Ackerman Pierce is currently supporting a social care organisation within Kingston to recruit for a Social Worker for the Children with Disabilities Team on a permanent basis paying £42,771 - £45,750 P/Annum (£3,000 annual market supplement)
Our client has a well-structured and organised team that are looking to grow their staffing levels. The role offers flexible working hours and has a supportive team culture with regular supervision on cases.
Main duties include:
1. You will work with them, their families and other agencies to meet their assessed needs and support them to achieve their potential.
2. Include assessment, planning and interventions with Children in Need, Children Looked After and Children in need of Protection, as well as young people preparing for adulthood.
3. Will have a Social Work qualification and an understanding of the impact of disability on children’s lives.
4. Be passionate about making a difference, and able to use creative and personalised approaches alongside the team’s Signs of Safety and My Plan approach to achieve positive outcomes for children.
5. Be able to work in partnership with disabled children and their families, as well as colleagues in Education, Health, the Voluntary & Community sector, wider Children’s and Lifelong Services
6. Must be passionate about making a difference and able to use creative and personalised strengths-based approaches alongside the team’s embedded Signs of Safety work to achieve positive outcomes for children.
7. Be able to work in partnership with disabled children and their families
8. To prepare and submit written reports as and when required, including statements and care plans for care proceedings in the Family Proceedings, County and High Courts.

Minimum Requirements:
9. SWE Registration
10. 1 year post qualifying experience within the UK Social Care industry
11. Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
12. Eligibility to work in the UK
Knowledge & Experience
13. You must have previous experience working within the children with disabilities team
14. Knowledge of child protection, LAC and associated social work practices.
15. Knowledge and understanding of the framework for the assessment of children in need and their families i.e. attachment theory, enabling change, behaviour management.
