The Department of Trauma & Orthopaedics at the Princess Royal University Hospital, a division of Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, is looking for enthusiastic and committed Locum Consultant Ortho-Geriatric Physician. The post is full time and will be for a minimum of 12 months, with possibility of becoming a permanent post.
The appointed Physician will join a join a friendly and supportive team of 12 Consultants and 3 Associate Specialists that works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary teams at the Princess Royal University Hospital. The team is currently supported by 12 Specialist Registrars/ Senior Clinical Fellows (Reg level); 16 Junior Clinical Fellows/ Core Surgical Trainees/ MTI and cover both the PRUH and Orpington sites; a Specialist Nurse for Trauma and a Specialist Nurse for Hip Fractures.
Main duties of the job
The post will be based exclusively at the PRUH, which form part of King’s College Hospital Foundation Trust. There will be an average of Programmed Activities of Direct Clinical Care, with Core SPA and being allocated for SPA or other uses.
There would be NO On-Call commitment, and the job plan will be flexible with a view to appropriate work-life balance, and a specialty interest clinic can be job planned depending on the interests of the successful candidate and the requirements of the service. .
As a senior employee of the Trust, you will work in close co-operation with, and support other clinical, medical professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to the Trust’s patients. Integral to these responsibilities is the following: -

ØEffective leadership to all staff engaged in the specialty
ØSustaining and developing teaching and research in conjunction with King’s College London
ØUndertaking all work in accordance with the Trust’s procedures and operating policies Conducting clinical practice in accordance with contractual requirements and within the parameters of the Trust’s service plans
ØMaintaining the confidence of business plans and development strategies formulated for the specialty, the Division or the Trust
