This role is based at Tyneside House, Newcastle, with hybrid working support, requiring a minimum of one day in the office per week. This full-time role offers a fantastic opportunity to influence planning decisions, promote climate resilience, and support environmentally responsible development. What you'll be doing: * Manage planning consultations from Local Authorities and developers, ensuring timely and effective responses. * Collaborate with specialists in Flood Risk, Contaminated Land, Water Quality, Biodiversity, and Environment Management to provide comprehensive advice. * Advocate for climate change considerations in planning processes, influencing local policies and development proposals. * Offer guidance on residential, commercial, minerals, and waste projects. * Respond to pre-planning inquiries, planning application consultations, and development plans. * Coordinate advice to support strategic plans, infrastructure projects, and planning consultations through statutory and chargeable services. What you'll bring: * Qualifications to at least degree level in a relevant discipline or experience within the Town & Country Planning system. * Strong organisational skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities. * Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. * Skilled at synthesising information from diverse sources and presenting key facts clearly. * Sound decision-making skills in complex situations. * Self-motivated, capable of working independently or as part of a team. * A commitment to contributing to a diverse and inclusive work environment.
