Overview
We are seeking a qualified and passionate Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist to join our growing team. You will provide specialist therapeutic support to children and young people experiencing emotional and psychological difficulties, working collaboratively with families, carers, and professionals to deliver tailored interventions that achieve positive outcomes. Responsibilities
* Conduct specialist psychological assessments using a range of tools (tests, rating scales, observations, and multi-agency information)
* Formulate and implement tailored therapeutic intervention plans for children and young people
* Provide one-to-one therapy sessions and undertake formal reviews with parents/carers
* Consult with educators, care providers, and parents/guardians to support holistic therapeutic care
* Exercise professional judgment in assessment, formulation, intervention, discharge, and communication with other professionals
* Advise colleagues on therapeutic and psychological aspects of risk assessment and management
* Monitor and evaluate the progress of interventions
* Maintain accurate and confidential client records in line with professional and legal standards
* Contribute to service development and participate in team meetings and supervision sessions
Qualifications
* Recognised qualification in psychotherapy or related discipline
* Registration with a professional body (HCPC, BACP, BABCP, UKCP, ACP)
* Experience working with children and young people, ideally within the Child Looked After sector
* Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic approaches
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, families, and professionals
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
