We are looking for an exceptional English Teacher to join a friendly and forward-thinking independent school in Truro. This is a full-time position teaching Years 5–8 (Key Stages 2 and 3) - ideal for a teacher who thrives on creativity, challenge, and connection.

What you’ll be doing:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons across Years 5–8 (Key Stages 2 and 3).
* Design creative and challenging learning experiences that inspire confidence in reading, writing, and communication.
* Track and assess pupil progress to ensure every learner is supported and challenged appropriately.
* Foster a classroom culture where curiosity, respect, and enthusiasm for learning thrive.
* Collaborate with colleagues to plan schemes of work and share best practice.
* Contribute to the wider life of the school through clubs, trips, and enrichment activities.
What we’re looking for:
* A qualified and passionate teacher (QTS or equivalent).
* Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for English and literacy.
* Experience teaching Key Stage 2 and/or Key Stage 3.
* A creative and flexible approach to planning and delivery.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and a genuine commitment to pupil development.
* A desire to contribute to the warm, caring ethos of an independent school community.
