The Role
Front of House Manager / F&B manager Based at a Super High-End Luxury Venue | East of Scotland | Sleeps up to 32 Guests We are seeking a highly skilled Front of House Manager to oversee the guest experience at one of Scotlands most exclusive private venues. This unique hybrid role blends elements of luxury front-of-house management, personal butler service and high-end beverage preparation. As the primary point of contact for guests throughout their stay, you will deliver an exceptional standard of service: from warm arrivals and seamless day-to-day hospitality; to delivering a bespoke food and beverage experience from the custom-built service bar. You will work closely with a resident Head Chef to deliver a curated all-day dining menu and ensure all service aligns with the venues world-class standards. The role is dynamic and will vary greatly depending on guest numbers, group type and individual requirements. Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Front of House
Provide an outstanding, personalised welcome for all guests on arrival and maintain a calm, confident presence throughout their stay.
Serve as the central point of contact for all front-of-house needs, anticipating guest preferences and tailoring service accordingly.
Deliver discreet, intuitive and highly personalised service in line with luxury accommodation standards.
Manage, coordinate and support a small team when required, ensuring all service points remain consistent.
Offer knowledgeable guidance on the local area, including East Lothian attractions, activities, dining options and broader Scottish highlights.
Food & Beverage Service
Operate the venues bespoke service bar, preparing drinks to an exceptional standard: from barista-quality coffees and soft drinks to premium spirits, wine service and crafted cocktails.
After an initial trial period, there could be the opportunity to take ownership over the full bar offering, including the development and curation of the wine list, spirits selection and cocktail menu.
Serve dishes from the all-day menu created by the resident Head Chef, ensuring a seamless food & drink experience at all touchpoints.
Maintain immaculate presentation of all service areas, ensuring stock, equipment and mise-en-place are always guest-ready.
Venue Standards & Operations
Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, organisation and visual presentation throughout the guest areas.
Proactively manage guest requests, special requirements and last-minute changes with professionalism and calm efficiency.
Support venue operations, administrative tasks and coordination with the wider Edinburgh Catering Company team.
Who We Need We are looking for a polished, confident and highly adaptable hospitality professional with a passion for exceptional service. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
Experience & Skills
Extensive hands-on experience across multiple hospitality environments (restaurants, bars and luxury hotels).
A proven ability to deliver a highly personalised and intuitive guest service, particularly within boutique or small-team operations.
Strong capability in premium beverage service, and a strong working knowledge of wine, spirits, mixology and coffee preparation.
Experience working in environments where versatility is key: covering multiple roles depending on the days needs.
A meticulous eye for detail and an uncompromising approach to standards.
Personal Qualities
Warm, articulate and guest-focused, with the ability to read guests and adjust service accordingly.
Calm under pressure, solutions-driven and able to respond quickly to changing guest requirements.
Genuinely passionate about high-end food, drink and hospitality.
Knowledgeable about Central Scotland/Edinburgh, the surrounding Scottish landscape, and the Edinburgh restaurant scene; or eager to learn quickly.
Professional, discreet and comfortable working in a refined private-house environment
A full driving licence is essential due to the venues rural location and operational demands.
