Our client is a very successful and well established family-run wholesaler and distribution based in Heywood, Greater Manchester. They are a small fast-growing company with great ambition and a great working environment. They specialise in surplus stock and end-of-line fast-moving products homeware/household products.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist Senior Buyer in Sourcing Clearance and Excess Stock Opportunities throughout the UK and Internationally.
• Have a strong awareness of competitor activity and regularly compile competitor analysis and feedback.
• Support the Senior Buyer throughout the Sourcing and Negotiation stages.
• To be aware of and work within stock budget parameters.
• General administration including Supplier invoicing, product setup, sample management and operational communications.
• Building relationships with New and Existing Suppliers.
• Visit relevant trade shows, exhibitions, and suppliers, representing the company. Travel abroad may be required.

Experience
• Previous experience of working in a purchasing team preferably within the Homeware, Toys, Giftware, Pet and DIY sectors.
• Clearance/ End of Line product environment would be advantageous.
• Good knowledge of purchasing, negotiation, commercial understanding, and cost breakdown
• Experience of working closely with suppliers & retailers.
• Able to add value, reduce costs and input to business improvements.
