Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Engineering Lead to join our team, responsible for leading the engineering department overseeing all modular engineering drawing deliverables, managing all resources and workloads to meet key project milestones. In addition, the Engineering Lead will play an active role in designing and analysing various modular structures, ensuring they meet safety, stability, and functionality requirements. The ideal candidate should possess a strong technical background in DNV 2.7-1 and industry standards, proficiency in structural engineering principles, and the ability to deliver innovative and cost-effective design solutions.
Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership: Lead and manage the engineering department consisting of structural, architectural and electrical design engineers, overseeing workloads and allocating resources to meet key project deliverables. The candidate shall work closely with the project team with a strong focus on delivery schedules, ensuring both operations personnel and sub-suppliers are in receipt of required manufacturing drawings in a timely manner.
2. Drawings: Production and engineering drawings including GA drawings, complete fabrication drawing packs, assembly drawings and as-builts. Specific project drawings may be required on a case by case basis.

4. FEA Studies: Conduct Finite Element Analysis studies producing client reports with a particular focus on lifting, environmental loadings and transport accelerations using Autodesk Nastran.
5. Project Support: Collaborate with project managers and engineers to support the planning and execution of structural projects.
6. Code Compliance: Ensure all designs adhere to relevant building codes, standards, and regulations, guaranteeing compliance with safety and structural requirements.
7. Material Selection: Select appropriate materials for each project, considering factors such as load capacity, cost-effectiveness, and environmental impact.
8. Documentation: Prepare and maintain project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and test reports.
9. Material Management: Assist in managing project materials, inventory, and procurement to ensure availability and cost-effectiveness.
10. Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance processes to verify that fabrications meet project specifications and performance standards.
11. Cost Estimation: Collaborate in the estimation of project costs related to structural elements and materials.
12. Coordination: Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project progress.
13. Training and Development: Stay updated on industry trends and advancements, seeking continuous improvement in technical skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Structural Engineering or a related field. Relevant certifications are a benefit.
2. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in structural design or a similar role.
3. Technical Skills: Proficiency in using Autodesk Inventor, Nastran or Ansys. Knowledge of AutoCAD and other drafting tools is advantageous.
4. Knowledge: Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, including load analysis, stress analysis, and material behavior. Familiarity with relevant building codes, standards, and industry regulations.
5. Problem-Solving Abilities: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to address complex engineering challenges.
6. Creativity: Ability to think creatively and develop innovative design solutions.
