Some of the benefits - Salary between £34,893 - £41,050 (dependent on experience) - Flexible working - 26 days’ annual leave plus Bank Holidays - Outstanding pension scheme (contributions of up to 16% of basic salary) - Life assurance - Optional health and dental cash plan Your role You’ll help plan and support our fundraising and water safety PR campaigns, while maximising the impact of our lifesaving stories and protecting the charity’s reputation. You will also work with our current Regional Communications Lead and Media Trainers to support our volunteer Lifeboat Press Officers, ensuring they have the skills and resources needed to deliver local news stories, videos, and engaging social media content for their lifeboat station. You will be home-based within the Scotland region or work from an RNLI regional office, if that suits you. The ability to work independently and prioritise your work is essential. You will be expected to travel throughout Scotland. The RNLI is a 24/7 search and rescue organisation, and you should be ready to work outside normal office hours. You will also be part of an out-of-hours duty press officer rota, which will require scheduled weekend and evening work. About you A PR or media professional with a strong news sense and creative flair, you’ll generate interest by telling powerful stories across traditional, digital, and social media. You’ll have a broad range of media contacts across the regional press and a good understanding of the regional and national news agenda. To be successful in your application, you will need: - Degree level or equivalent experience in a media or corporate communications environment. - Substantial experience of a busy media environment and communications best practices – media relations, press release writing, social media, and basic video production. - Substantial experience of finding and pitching stories that include key organisational messages.
