Senior CMHACS/Crisis Team Practitioner – Mental Health

Apply for the Senior CMHACS/Crisis Team Practitioner – Mental Health role at NHS Scotland.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff and delivering acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million residents and a wider population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.

* Hours: 37 hours per week
* Shift pattern: Mixed – 9‑5 pm and 12‑8 pm shifts over 7 days
* This post is permanent


Responsibilities

* Provide intensive home treatment and care intervention for individuals with complex mental health, physical and social care needs who present in crisis, as an alternative to hospital admission.
* Support early discharge from hospital by participating in discharge planning and immediate follow‑up from acute in‑service user care.
* Assess individuals during pass‑through from acute in‑service user care.
* Exercise clinical leadership of junior team members, prioritising workload, supervising and providing regular appraisal and clinical supervision.
* Ensure that the practice of junior members is within legal and ethical frameworks, appropriate codes of professional conduct, mental health legislation and contractual obligations.
* Assist the Team Leader in the rapid deployment of crisis resources in response to service user need.
* Interface between the Community Mental Health Team and in‑service user services, and other mental health network services and agencies.
