Join Our Team as a Principal Structural Engineer!

Salary: Circa £60,000
What You'll Be Doing:
As a Principal Structural Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design and analysis of complex steel structures that support our submarine build projects. Your expertise will help shape the future of engineering in our industry!
* Analyze and Design: Work with Eurocodes, British Standards, and BAE standards to create robust structural solutions.
* Regulatory Knowledge: Utilize your understanding of regulations like LOLER and weld specifications to ensure compliance.
* Technical Proficiency: Employ computer-based analytical techniques, including finite element analysis and CAD modeling (Abaqus, S-Frame).
* Support Manufacturing: Assist in the manufacturing, assembly, lifting, handling, and installation of submarine structures and components.
* Concept Development: Contribute to the production of concept drawings and technical outputs that meet contractual requirements.
* Quality Assurance: Take responsibility for approvals and checking analysis outputs.
Your Skills and Experiences:
Essential:
* Experience in structural calculations.
* Strong understanding of structural mechanics and dynamics.
* Ability to develop structural requirements and V&V evidence.
* Proficient in using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software.
* Skilled in presenting technical arguments clearly and simply.
* Previous experience in checking and approving work.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of Abaqus FEA and Simcenter, or a willingness to learn.
* Chartered Engineer status (or on the path to becoming Chartered).
* Experience in generating toolsets/calculation templates.
