Role: EC&I Designer
Location: Liverpool Area | Hybrid Working

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced EC&I Designer to join a growing team delivering projects across the UK's gas and energy infrastructure sector.
Working on a range of technically challenging projects, you will be responsible for producing high-quality Electrical, Control & Instrumentation design deliverables throughout the full project lifecycle, from FEED and detailed design through to construction, commissioning, and handover.
Key Responsibilities
Produce EC&I design documentation and drawings for industrial and infrastructure projects.
Develop Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), loop diagrams, cable schedules, instrument hook-ups, control panel layouts, hazardous area drawings, and associated design deliverables.
Support the development of control philosophies, cause and effect matrices, instrument indexes, and equipment schedules.
Review vendor documentation and incorporate package interfaces into project designs.
Participate in design reviews, HAZOP studies, client meetings, and technical workshops.
Provide technical support during fabrication, installation, and commissioning activities.
Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.About You
HNC, HND, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Control, Engineering Design, or a related discipline.
Proven EC&I design experience within the gas, oil & gas, energy, utilities, or wider process industries.
Strong understanding of hazardous area installations and safety-critical environments.
Experience producing detailed design deliverables throughout the engineering lifecycle.
Ability to interpret P&IDs, engineering specifications, and technical documentation.
Experience producing Functional Design Specifications (FDS) would be advantageous.Technical Skills
Proficient in AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Electrical.
Knowledge of instrumentation systems, PLCs, SCADA systems, and control panel design.
Familiarity with ATEX, DSEAR, IEC 60079, IEC 61511, and related industry standards.
Experience with EPLAN or AVEVA Electrical & Instrumentation would be beneficial.What's On Offer
