Overview
Copello are working with a dynamic business who are dedicated to delivering a range of sophisticated metering and data acquisition solutions to the power industry. Their comprehensive portfolio includes both hardware and software products, developed in-house or sourced from trusted third-party suppliers. They specialise in solving complex network solutions, Dynamic System Monitoring, Power Quality, and Generator performance monitoring.
As a Test Engineer, you will be responsible for mechanical and electrical testing of completed projects.
Responsibilities
* Full ownership of mechanical and electrical testing of electrical panels (metering solutions), including insulation resistance, secondary injections, configuration of various devices, etc.
* Fully own the test area; provide input to the test schedule, testing documentation and protocols, and coordination of all testing phases including witness acceptance tests.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure testing objectives are met within budget and on time.
* Identify and lead testing risk and implement controls to mitigate.
* Conduct Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) activities in connection with testing of projects.
* Support and assist the management team to supervise progress and ensure that testing targets are met, taking remedial action where required.
* Maintain technical standards in all aspects of testing to ensure safe and successful project implementation.
* Occasional support with commissioning works at customer premises.
Skills and Experience
* Electrical engineering or systems engineering technical background required.
* Experience in a similar role/environment is advantageous.
* Excellent problem-solving ability and an engineering curiosity attitude.
* Knowledge of precision high-accuracy metering is advantageous (CoP1, CoP2).
* Ability to interpret and use project documentation including electrical schematics.
* Experience in SCADA, control systems and communication protocols advantageous.
* Experience in programming of switches & routers, and integration with other communications systems advantageous.
