Barker Ross is recruiting for an Irrigation Engineer to join a well-known agricultural engineering business in Corby. This is a hands-on, practical role working with irrigation systems and farm machinery, ideal for candidates with mechanical or farm maintenance experience.
The Role
* Servicing, inspection, and repair of irrigation equipment and farm machinery, including:
o Hose reels
o Irrigation booms
o Water pumps
o General farm machinery
* Mainly workshop-based, with occasional travel to customer sites for breakdown support during peak seasons
Key Responsibilities
* Service, maintain, and repair irrigation equipment and farm machinery
* Carry out inspections and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical faults
* Attend on-site breakdowns when required
* Complete service documentation accurately
What We're Looking For
* Hands-on experience with irrigation systems and/or farm machinery
* Strong mechanical knowledge and practical problem-solving skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
* Full UK driving licence
Desirable (Not Essential):
* Basic hydraulic or electrical knowledge
* Welding or fabrication experience
* Forklift licence
Working Hours
* Monday-Thursday: 08:00-17:00
* Friday: 08:00-16:30
* On-call rota required
