Your Responsibilities
As a Design Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Eastern and Midlands team. Here’s what your day-to-day will look like:
* Manage the Design Process: Oversee the design process during both the pre-construction and construction phases.
* Document Analysis: Interrogate enquiry documents, specifically the Employer's Requirements.
* Proposal Production: Collaborate with internal departments to produce a comprehensive Contractor's Proposal document.
* Consultant Management: Manage our design process through external consultants.
* Innovative Solutions: Drive innovative and cost-effective solutions into the design.
* Timely Progress: Ensure design issues are resolved within strict timelines and that designers meet information delivery dates.
* Meeting Participation: Attend tender launch, adjudication, and launch meetings as required.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if you possess the following:
* Experience: Proven track record of delivering high-value, complex design work from a main contractor perspective.
* Organizational Skills: Ability to organize, plan, program, and manage workloads effectively.
* Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of Building Regulations and Planning Permission procedures.
* Commercial Awareness: Strong commercial insight and understanding of different client procurement routes.
* Site Experience: Familiarity with site and contract procedures is an advantage.
