A rewarding opportunity is available to join the Clinical Engineering team at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust as a Medical Equipment Library Assistant. In this role, you will apply your strong organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills while working both independently and as part of a dynamic, evolving team.
As a valued member of the team, you will contribute to the direction and management of the medical equipment library service across the organisation, ensuring the efficient delivery and oversight of medical equipment throughout the Trust.
Main duties of the job
1. Responsible for the delivery, retrieval, and cleaning of medical devices from the medical equipment library at an operational level.
2. Provide guidance to nursing and other staff on the use of medical devices and actively promote the medical equipment library across the organisation.
3. Participate in the performance and monitoring of the library service to ensure effective delivery to clinical areas, including tracking devices using RFID technology and maintaining accurate records.
4. Contribute to the quality system within Clinical Engineering, supporting efforts to achieve accreditation and provide assurance of the medical equipment library service.
5. Strong influencing and negotiation skills are required, along with experience working in either an acute or community setting.
6. Good knowledge of medical devices would be beneficial for this role

Essential criteria
7. NVQ Level 3, Vocational Qualifications Level 3, A-Levels or equivalent knowledge and experience
Desirable criteria
8. ONC, or equivalent qualification in electronics, science or engineering subject.
