The Diocese of Leeds

The Diocese of Leeds represents the Church of England across the whole of West Yorkshire, the western part of North Yorkshire, and small parts of South Yorkshire, Lancashire, and County Durham. This is one of the largest dioceses in England, covering an area of around 2,425 square miles and housing a population of around 2.6 million.

The Diocese has an exciting vision of ‘Confident Christians, Growing Churches, Transforming Communities’, which is the focus of our work as we move forwards. In delivering the diocesan vision, we are focusing on Encouraging Confidence as a simple way of defining our purpose.

The Role

The Diocese is seeking to appoint an IT Project Manager as it embarks on the selection and implementation of two key systems – a new Customer Relationship Management (‘CRM’) tool and a replacement Property Management System. These projects are critical to the delivery of the Leeds Diocesan Board of Finance strategy of Encouraging Confidence, with effective systems and processes central to everything we do.

You will be working alongside the Head of IT and closely with the Strategic Portfolio Manager and Head of Property to deliver these two projects. Both projects have commenced but require the rigor and oversight of an experienced and technically able Project Manager to ensure the right systems are selected and implemented well.

The Key Responsibilities Of The Role Include

* Leading the capture of organisational requirements for the implementation of a CRM system.
* Working with preferred suppliers to ensure organisational requirements are met in the proposed designs.
* Ensuring a robust testing process occurs.
* Ensuring sufficient organisational training takes place.
* Ensuring good project closure takes place to enable the organisation to manage the software within business as usual processes.
* To oversee project governance, including milestone tracking, risk management, stakeholder communication, budget management and Board reporting.
* To identify issues at an early stage and manage through to resolution.

The organisation is team orientated in our approach but enable team members to operate with a high level of autonomy. The successful candidates will enjoy freedom to get on with their role and work on their own initiative.

You Need

* Experience of the selection and implementation of SaaS / cloud systems
* Experience of working with third party providers
* Project management certifications such as AGILE or PRINCE2; Experience of using Business Analysis techniques (desirable)
* Strong analytical skills with experience applying business analysis methodologies.
* Skilled in documenting requirements, use cases, and business logic
* To be forward thinking/proactive
* To have strong interpersonal skills

For more information on this vacancy, please contact Laurence Crummay (Head of IT) on 0113 353 0218 / email: laurence.crummay@leeds.anglican.org

The closing date for the vacancy isSunday 3rd August at 11.59pm.

Interviews are expected to take place in the week commencing 11th August 2025.

The package includes a flexi-time scheme, an 8% non-contributory pension with an additional 5% matched contributions, hybrid working (50%), Cycle to work scheme, EV salary sacrifice scheme and 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays and four customary days a year (between Christmas and New Year).

* Love God, the world and one another.
* Live in the world as it is, but, drawn by a vision of something better, we want to help individuals and communities flourish,
