Location: Manchester
Working Pattern: Full-time (Hybrid 3 days onsite)
Security Clearance: Must be eligible for SC and DV Clearance
Salary : £52,000 - £72,000 + 10% bonus + £7,000 tax-free DV Bonus

The Role
As a Front-End Developer, you will:
Design, build and maintain modern, high-performance web applications
Work within autonomous DevOps teams delivering secure, scalable solutions
Collaborate closely with end users, UX designers and product teams
Contribute across the full software delivery lifecycle
Define and shape front-end architecture and technology choices
Apply secure coding standards and best practices
Implement automated testing with a shift-left mindset
Support continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines
Contribute creative, innovative solutions to complex challenges

Required Skills & Experience
Strong knowledge of vanilla JavaScript and modern ECMAScript standards
Experience with JavaScript frameworks and front-end architecture design
Deep understanding of the DOM, CSS, accessibility (ARIA) and form validation
Experience with bundlers such as Webpack or Rollup
Practical experience with Node.js and API integration
Knowledge of Jest, Jasmine or similar testing frameworks
Experience with Git and branching strategies
Understanding of Agile delivery and CI/CD best practices
Strong grounding in Computer Science fundamentals (OOP, data structures, design patterns)
Experience applying secure coding principles
Desirable
3+ years front-end development experience
TypeScript experience
Responsive/mobile-first development
Automation testing tools such as Cypress, Selenium or Playwright
Exposure to backend development concepts
