Senior Java Developer – Greenfield Trading Platform (VP Level)
Glasgow | Hybrid (2 days in office)
A leading global financial institution is hiring a senior Java developer to join a lean, high-performing team building a brand-new electronic trading platform from the ground up.
You’ll play a key role in shaping the orchestration and integration layer of this greenfield platform—critical infrastructure supporting real-time Rates trading. The team is small, technically strong, and backed at the highest levels of the business. This is a VP-level role, not focused on people management but on being a go-to technical authority.
What You’ll Do
* Design and implement performant Java code for real-time trading systems
* Contribute to architectural decisions and integration strategies
* Lead by example in code reviews and technical guidance
* Mentor junior engineers and take ownership of technical delivery
What We’re Looking For
* Strong core Java skills (multithreading, concurrency, performance)
* Proven experience in real-time systems
* Background contributing to architecture in complex environments
* Bonus: experience in trading systems, orchestration/integration layers
